Application Process

Every application accounts for your education and experience, and requires the documentation to support your certification.

Step 1

Log in to your Inteleos online portal and choose Apply. Each exam has an online application form to complete.

Step 2

Submit payment through the secure online portal.

Step 3

You will be required to attest that you have read, understood and acknowledge the Application Agreement and Compliance Policies.

Step 4

Gather your required documentation to submit. Each examination has different documentation requirements to capture details of your training and experience.

Be sure to check eligibility and prerequisite experience before applying: some exams require specific board certification, medical licensure, or specialized experience.

Step 5

Upload documentation directly to your Inteleos online portal. You may go back and add documentation at different times while completing your application.

All documentation and training requirements must be met before submitting your final application.

Step 6

Submit your application for review.

Step 7

Wait for your Exam Confirmation Letter (ECL). Your application will be reviewed, and we’ll let you know if you need additional documentation. For some exams, this approval can take several weeks. The Exam Confirmation Letter (ECL), either via email or in your online portal, confirms that your application has been approved. With it, you can schedule your exam.

If you are ineligible, you will be notified of your ineligibility and the reason(s) for that determination.

Step 8

Schedule your exam. There are two types of scheduling.

  • Windowed exams: available during set scheduled periods during the year
  • Non-windowed exams: available year-round

Find an appointment time at a Pearson testing center, located in the U.S., Canada, and many international locations.

Step 9

Prepare for your exam. Find the content outline and study resources on your exam page.

Step 10

Sit for your exam. Examinations are administered on a computer in a secure Pearson test center. Test center policies are strictly enforced, so be sure to review our tips for test day to make sure you have everything you need.
