Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Maintain your ARDMS and APCA certifications by earning the minimum required number of CMEs within your three-year CME period.
CME core details
Each certificant follows their CME cycle based on initial certification date. The cycle spans three years, ending on December 31 of the third year.
Number of CMEs required varies based on certifications, specialties, and combination of credentials.
Each certificant can track their requirements and progress in their CME Bank in their own Inteleos portal account.
The CME Audit process begins in March each year for 3-year period that ended on December 31 the prior year.
If you are chosen for a CME Audit, you will be notified.
If you are not chosen for a CME audit, your 3-year CME period resets.
ARDMS, APCA, and Inteleos do not award CME credits, but do waive CME credits when candidates or certificants:
- Earn a new certification (15 CME credits waived)
- Pass a new specialty exam under a certification already earned
- Example: Someone who has already earned RDMS with AB then takes and passes OB, 15 CME credits will be waived.
- Participate in Volunteer activities, up to 20 CMEs waived per 3-year cycle
How do I maintain my CME documentation?
Maintain your CME Certificates for a minimum of four years in case of an audit. You can:
- Upload them to your CME Bank in your Inteleos portal account.
- Hold onto the certificates yourself in case you are selected for a CME audit at the end of your 3-year cycle.
- Direct transfer CMEs earned from providers that participate in our tracker program to your CME Bank.
