CME Audit Process

Starting in March each year, we conduct an audit of CME compliance for certificants whose three-year CME period just ended in December of the previous year.

In March 2027, we will begin the CME Audit process for certificants with the three-year period of January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026.

Audit Steps

  1. Inteleos (ARDMS/APCA) randomly selects a percentage of certificants
  2. We notify those selected via Inteleos portal accounts and email in March.
  3. Those audited have until April 30 to submit required CME documentation.
  4. We notify audit participants of their CME audit results in June.
  5. Results are posted in individual portal accounts.

Audit consequences

If you do not submit the minimum required number of accepted CMEs by April 30, your certification(s) will be revoked.

CME Audit Reinstatement

If your certification is revoked for not meeting CME requirements, follow these steps by August 1 for reinstatement:

  1. Submit copies of the required number of CMEs earned within your 3-year period.
  2. If you are deficient, you may earn and submit additional CMEs up to the August 1 deadline.
    1. Upload your complete CME audit documentation to your CME Bank in your Inteleos portal.
    2. Then, email CMEauditappeal@Inteleos.org to confirm that you have completed this step.
  3. Pay $150 CME reinstatement fee in your Inteleos portal.

After the August 1 deadline:

Reinstatement documentation received will be automatically denied.

Your certification(s) will be permanently revoked, and you will no longer be a Certificant of ARDMS and/or APCA which means:

  • You cannot represent yourself as a Certificant with regard to APCA or ARDMS certifications, including any misstatement of fact about being APCA-certified or ARDMS-certified in any specialty, to current or future employers or others
  • You will no longer be included in any directory listing of Certificants
  • You can no longer display your APCA/ARDMS certification certificate(s)
  • You will not receive any of the standard APCA privileges and benefits
  • You will need to retake all necessary examinations to regain an Active status

  • Statement of explanation
  • Proof of your claim
